The Economic Impact of the Film Industry
With Alaska recently joining the wave of state's with film incentive programs, there are now 47 states with programs to attract films.
In general these states promise films 25% to 42% of their in-state spending back in the form of a tax-rebate. The states have Film Offices to administrate the process of handing out these rebates, and to monitor the impact the film industry is having.
